How to buy supplements for less

This is a price comparison, not medical advice. We rank what each product costs per capsule; which medicine is right for you, and at what dose, is a question for a pharmacist or doctor. Always follow the label.

Supplement pricing hides behind bottle size and multi-bottle bundles: the same softgel appears at four prices depending on how many bottles are in the box. Cost per capsule is the only number that compares them — and the first thing it tells you here is that the bulk tier is not a discount.

  • The multi-bottle bundles save nothing. We checked every pack size in the range we track: the 1, 2, 3 and 5-bottle tiers all work out to exactly the same cost per softgel — $0.25 a softgel whether you buy 120 or 600. That is why this ranking lists single bottles only; the bundles are the same price per capsule with more of your money committed up front. Buy the bundle for the convenience or the longer runway, never for a saving that is not there.
  • Multiply bottle count by capsules per bottle before you compare anywhere else. A "120 softgels - PACK 3" is 360 softgels. Most retailers show you the box price and leave that multiplication to you, which is exactly where a bundle looks three times worse — or three times better — than it is.
  • Compare only within the same active and dose. Cost per capsule across a 1,000 IU vitamin D and a 10,000 IU one is not a comparison; the dose per capsule is what you are buying, so read the label figure before the price.
  • A combined product is two prices in a trench coat. An "Omega 3 + vitamin D3-K2" bottle cannot be judged per capsule against a plain omega 3 — you are buying two actives. Price it against the two singles bought separately before assuming the combination is the cheaper route.

How we rank supplements

We take each listing’s last-seen price and divide it by the capsule — the unit that actually matters here — so a big pack and a small one line up on the same scale. The cheapest per capsule wins, not the biggest label or the lowest sticker price.

What we check

Cheapest isn’t always best value. For supplements we surface the trust signal that separates the real thing from filler: $/capsule, not $/bottle.

Frequently asked questions

How are the cheapest supplements calculated?

We take each listing's last-seen price and divide it by the capsule — the unit that actually matters here — so a big pack and a small one line up on the same scale. The cheapest cost per capsule ranks first, not the biggest label or the lowest sticker price.

How much do supplements cost per month?

At one capsule a day, the median price we track works out to about $6.42 a month — $77.04 a year. Buying at the cheapest price we currently track instead costs $0.31 a month, saving roughly $73.34 over a year.

What are the cheapest supplements right now?

The best value right now is Fytika at $0.010 per capsule — the lowest real cost per capsule of the 7779 live deals we track in this category. The most expensive supplements we track cost 80× the median per capsule for the same job, so ranking by cost per capsule is what separates value from price.
